Certior Capital closes credit opportunities fund at EUR 87m
Certior Capital announces the final close of Certior Credit Opportunities Fund (CCOF) on EUR 87m. The Fund received support from a range of European investors including insurance companies, pension funds, endowments and family offices.
CCOF will focus on investing into private credit funds providing debt financing for sponsorless small and mid-sized companies in Europe. Funds managed by emerging teams with proven investment expertise are of particular interest. The fund will also make co-investments and opportunistically consider secondary investments and will invest predominantly in senior secured or collateral backed loans. It has already made a number of commitments to funds based in the UK, Germany, Switzerland and Spain as well as a number of co-investments. It expects to be fully committed within the next 12 months.
Ari Jauho, Chairman and Partner at Certior Capital, comments, “Regulatory changes are creating major opportunities for private credit investors as banks continue to deleverage their balance sheets. While larger companies can still access the bond markets and syndicated loans, small and mid-sized companies have few options when looking for capital. In this segment loans can offer attractive returns with strong collateral and good recovery rates. We are very happy to be working with some of the most experienced locally-based managers and to support new manager to establish their operations on behalf of our investors”.
