Certior Credit Opportunities Fund II holds final closing around EUR 125m
HELSINKI – Certior Credit Opportunities Fund II (CCOF II) has recently held a final close at around EUR 125m. The new vehicle is significantly larger that the predecessor fund and was supported by a group of more than 25 institutional investors including pension funds, insurance companies, family offices and endowments. It aims to achieve returns of 8–10% net to investors through a diversified pan-European portfolio of 100+ senior secured loans. CCOF II will focus predominantly on the European SME direct lending segment, in particular through cornerstoning experienced country-specific management teams, often in their first institutional funds. The fund has been making commitments since the first close in August 2018 and has already made 5 primary, 1 secondary and 13 co-investments.
“We are very grateful to investors in the predecessor vehicle who strongly supported this fundraising and also to the many new investors, including a number from across Europe, who are backing us for the first time”, comments Ari Jauho, the Chairman of Certior Capital. “We are very happy with the transactions which the fund has underwritten so far and continue to see attractive risk-adjusted returns from sponsorless EUR 5–25m senior loans across Europe. While the market for larger loans has become more crowded in recent years, these smaller loans can still offer investors a high cash yield, attractive all-in pricing with upside potential, conservative capital structures and lender friendly terms with full covenants”.
The AIFM for CCOF II is IQ-EQ Fund Management SA with a full AIMF licence and the depository is IQ-EQ Depositary Services SA. Certior Capital acts as investment advisor for the fund. Loyens Loeff in Luxembourg is legal advisor to the fund. Reporting is provided by Assetmetrix GmbH in Munich.
